Alone

They tell me I'm better off as one
But they don't feel the pain
They walk hand and hand into the sun
I stand alone in the rain

They tell me the problems
They argue, they fight
But they always have someone
To hold in the night

They have each other to love
I have myself to despise
They have someone to kiss and to hug
All I have are the tears in my eyes

Alone I mumble
Alone I call
Alone I stumble
Alone I fall
Alone I wake
Alone I sleep
Alone I remain
Alone I weep

Alone is half but never whole
Alone is a body without a soul

Alone is dark
Together is light
Together is peace
Alone is fright
Together is young
Alone is old
Together is warm
But I am cold

Alone, my whole life has gone
But I don't want to die alone
